We’re looking for an AWS Cloud Architect to help us build new, industry-leading cloud products for our healthcare clients . This individual will play a primary role in future product development to benefit our clients as they tackle healthcare in the cloud.
Duties and Responsibilities
Architect:
- Working with engineering leadership, company stakeholders and SMEs: assess, design and plan new, industry-leading enterprise healthcare offerings leveraging the AWS cloud
- Collaborate closely with Product Management to ensure that our product offerings are highly-competitive and continue to meet client needs
- In all architecture and product planning efforts, design for security, resiliency, high-availability, fault tolerance, and scalability
- Contribute architecture expertise to a comprehensive product migration strategy for current clients to new offerings
- Guide, influence, and promote the experimentation and development of novel solutions to complex problems
- Stay abreast of new cloud technologies and solutions to support competitive products, reduce overhead, costs and maintenance
Skills and Qualifications
Required Experience
- 10+ years software architecture/engineering and 4+ years of Cloud Architecture experience
- Demonstrated professional competence in the principles and practices of Cloud architectures
- Subject Matter Expert in AWS Public cloud, including professional experience architecting and operating solutions built on AWS at scale
- IaaS layer (network, compute, storage)
- Managed services such as RDS, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, ElastiCache, ElasticBean Stalk, IAM, Cognito and others
- Hybrid Cloud environments
- Cloud native/12-factor application architecture and microservices
- Microservice applications using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, NodeJS, python/flask/Django
- Stateless and stateful applications for containers and container manager/schedulers such as Kubernetes, AWS EKS, AWS ECS and Docker
- Event-driven and real-time architectures, patterns, messaging and streaming technologies such as using Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Amazon SQS/SNS, Amazon MQ, AWS Managed Services for Kafka etc.
- DBMS technologies: Relational, Big Data, NoSQL (K-V stores, document stores, graph and column)
- Big Data, analytics and machine learning technologies on AWS such as EMR, Apache Spark, SageMaker
- AWS CloudFormation and Python
- Experience with modern software engineering practices using CI/CD and associated toolsets such as git, AWS Code Commit, Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo, Concourse, Salt, AWS Code Deploy, AWS Code Pipeline, etc.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentations for all levels of management combined with strong collaboration and influencing abilities
- Ability to navigate a venture-backed start-up atmosphere, including leadership and prioritized decision-making with imperfect information
- Demonstrated collaborative style, with the ability to influence diverse teams and build strong relationships across various internal stakeholders and constituents
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
Preferred Location
- Strong preference is for this person to be located in our IT hub of Minneapolis, MN.
